A very nice performance by a group of great musicians: Bob Fridzema and others – Photos

The beauty of the Luxor in Arnhem, it is located next to the NS station which makes it easy to travel, if the railways are on time at least.

With a final two-minute leeway I walked into the hall to see the band enter the stage. Quickly greeted photographer Marco and surrendered to a wonderful evening of relaxed music. The atmosphere of Devon’s latest album, Miami Moon, that relaxed atmosphere was also in this performance. a report.

Devon Allman opened with the title track of his latest album Miami Moon performed in a similar way as on the album, and where, surprisingly Bob Fridzema, played the keys.

After this fine intro the band went all out with swinging Latin rock by stringing together Royal Southern Brotherhoods Fired Up! and Sahara from Miami Moon.

Here you see Devon and his friend and guitarist Jackson Stokes at their best, giving each other space and with visible pleasure it was enjoying the rhythmic sounds, what a swinging whole.

That Devon did not deny his jam rock and his roots was evident from the fact that, an hour into the performance, we were only 6 songs further. “One way out” by the Vargas blues band, “I’ll be around” and the magnificent performance of Almann Bros track “Dreams” were all provided with the necessary musical playing.

There was a fierce bass solo to enjoy, fine percussion work by David Gomez who also gave a nice interpretation with his sax numbers and beautiful interplay between Bob and Devon, it was the musical high school.

One of the most beautiful songs of Miami Moon “You” dedicated to his wife was followed by “Southern rain” which he wrote especially after the death of his father Greg Allman. Both performed with a look full of love. The bass line of “Climb aboard” was the start of the end of the set, the groove in this song is damn catchy.

To continued loud cheering, the encore was for “Midnight” by his first band Honey tribe and “White horse” and surprisingly a third track, probably brought along because the audience asked for it.

It led to a funny intermezzo, which emphasized Devon’s relaxedness and the pleasure he has in performing. A very nice performance by a group of great musicians.
